Scott Aerospace at DEFSEC Atlantic 2026

Scott Aerospace Canada Officially Launches in Halifax

As part of our continued international growth strategy, we are delighted to announce that Scott Aerospace Canada has officially incorporated in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Establishing a Canadian presence marks an important milestone for our business and reinforces our long-term commitment to supporting the Canadian defence sector. Halifax's thriving defence and maritime ecosystem provides an ideal base for Scott Aerospace as we look to strengthen relationships with Canadian suppliers, prime contractors, government organisations, and industry partners. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of Vince and Begona at M Street Strategy, whose guidance throughout the incorporation process and valuable introductions have helped establish strong foundations for our Canadian operations. We would like to extend our sincere thanks for their support and partnership. Our vision for Scott Aerospace Canada is to create opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic. We are committed to supporting the export of Canadian-made products into the UK and international markets, while also creating new opportunities for our established UK-based partners looking to engage with Canadian programmes and supply chains. We look forward to fostering collaboration, supporting innovation, and contributing to the continued growth of the Canadian defence industry.

Meeting with Irving Shipbuilding

One of the highlights of the week was an invitation to visit Irving Shipbuilding, Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy combatant vessel partner responsible for building the next generation of ships for the Royal Canadian Navy. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to meet with Steve Bunn and members of the procurement team, where we presented Scott Aerospace's Canadian strategy and discussed potential areas of collaboration. The discussions offered valuable insight into future requirements and opportunities within Canada's naval and defence programmes. We would like to thank the Irving Shipbuilding team for their time, hospitality, and openness in discussing future possibilities. We look forward to continuing these conversations as our Canadian operations develop.

Establishing Our Presence at COVE

During our visit to Nova Scotia, the team also had the opportunity to visit our new workspace within COVE (Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship) in Dartmouth. COVE has become a key hub for defence, maritime, and ocean technology businesses, bringing together innovative companies, researchers, and industry stakeholders under one roof. Having a presence within this collaborative environment will allow Scott Aerospace Canada to immerse itself in the local ecosystem and further strengthen relationships throughout the region.

Scott Aerospace at DEFSEC Atlantic 2026

Members of the Scott Aerospace team attended DEFSEC Atlantic 2026 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hosted by the Atlantic Canada Aerospace & Defence Association (ACADA), DEFSEC Atlantic has grown to become one of Canada's premier defence and aerospace events, bringing together industry leaders, military personnel, government representatives, and suppliers from across Canada and beyond.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with existing partners, establish new relationships with Canadian suppliers, and gain valuable insight into current trends shaping the defence sector. Throughout the exhibition and conference programme, our team participated in a range of discussions covering procurement priorities, capability development, innovation, and supply chain resilience. The conversations and connections made during the week reinforced our confidence in the strength and potential of Canada's defence ecosystem and highlighted numerous opportunities for future collaboration.

Building Relationships Across the Defence Community

Beyond the exhibition itself, DEFSEC week provided numerous opportunities to engage with the wider defence and security community through a variety of networking and industry events.

Tim and Evie attended the Invest Nova Scotia Breakfast, where we had the opportunity to connect with fellow businesses and industry leaders from across the region. We were particularly grateful to receive a mention from Sheldon Gillis and appreciate the warm welcome we have received from the Nova Scotia business community.

Members of the team also attended the Stewart McKelvey Pre-DEFSEC Reception, kindly hosted by our legal advisors. The event provided an excellent forum for engaging with both industry and government representatives ahead of the exhibition.

A particular highlight was participating in the Women in Defence and Security Mentoring Event, which brought together an inspiring group of professionals from across the sector. The event created an environment for meaningful conversations, professional development, and new industry connections. We were proud to support and participate in an initiative that continues to champion diversity and female leadership within defence and security.

We were also delighted to attend the ACADA Annual Atlantic Reception, one of the flagship networking events during DEFSEC week. The reception shared valuable perspectives on emerging technologies, collaboration, innovation, and the evolving capability requirements of NATO allies. The evening offered an opportunity to connect with leaders from across the aerospace, defence, and security sectors, further strengthening relationships within the Atlantic Canadian defence community. We would like to thank ACADA for their hospitality and for creating an environment that encourages meaningful industry collaboration.

Looking Ahead

The incorporation of Scott Aerospace Canada and our participation in DEFSEC Atlantic 2026 represent the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our business. We are committed to investing in Halifax, building long-term partnerships, and supporting growth across the Canadian defence sectors. The encouragement and support we have received from organisations, partners, and industry peers throughout our market entry journey has been truly appreciated.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who joined us at our event at The Old Triangle during DEFSEC week. It was fantastic to celebrate this milestone alongside our and friends from across the defence community. The evening demonstrated the collaborative spirit that makes Atlantic Canada's defence sector so special, and we look forward to continuing these relationships in the years ahead.

We are excited about the future of Scott Aerospace Canada and look forward to contributing to the growth, innovation, and success of Canada's defence and maritime industry.
