The prestigious event, hosted this year in Draper’s Hall, is a highlight of the maritime calendar, attracting many of the industry’s biggest names. This year, Scott Aerospace are the headline sponsor of the evening. Scott Aerospace were invited to deliver a speech about our growth and role in the maritime industry.

History, Tradition, Future and Ambition

Surrounded by majestic history in Draper’s Hall on Throgmorton Street, this high-level occasion imparted an atmosphere of change. Martin’s speech described how Scott Aerospace grew in the past five years from a manufacturer of air parts and provider of engineering support services for Rolls Royce and the RAF into a major supplier to the Royal Navy’s surface and submarine fleets, and a rising name in the commercial marine sector.

Rear Admiral Steve McCarthy also spoke buoyantly about the evolving geostrategic landscape and advancements in naval technology, which are reshaping the maritime industry, and how the Royal Navy is rising to the challenge.

Ahead of dinner, Scott Aerospace hosted drinks at the City of London Club, an exclusive venue providing an excellent scene for stimulating conversation and friendly networking. Scott Aerospace further sponsored a successful afterparty, which all SMI members and guests were invited to attend. Leaders of many of Britain’s biggest names in maritime were present on the day, including the event sponsors: Scott Aerospace, Serco, Exail and APCL Group.
