Engineering Design Manufacturing

Design

We utilise the latest design software for both CAD & CAM, including Unigraphics NX, AutoCad, Edgecam & OneCNC.

This enables us to design, manufacture & commission complex operationional requirements with predictable results.

We manage obsolescence using our combined ERP/Design software systems.

Customers in aerospace, utilities, construction and other industries value how we design their engineering solutions.

We often do this concurrently with manufacturing and supply chains to cut lead times – frequently from minimal specifications.

Our capabilities embrace all aspects of design: concepts and prototyping; design approval; validation; finite element analysis; CE marking; risk analysis; technical publications and more.

Every day, customers such as Rolls-Royce plc trust our design skills. And benefit from rapid, reliable, high quality solutions.

Manufacturing

Scott Aerospace can provide a wide range of support activities to ensure the operational readiness of naval and commercial vessels. These services include:

  • Outline illustration of a laser cutter engraving a piece of material.

    Machining

We have a dedicated machining facility which enables us to keep the work under our own control, giving us a distinct advantage when it comes to quality and maintaining delivery schedules.

  • Line of seats with a robotic arm positioned above, likely in a factory or manufacturing setting.

    Fabrication

We have a dedicated fabrication facility which has the personnel and equipment to produce both very intricate and large fabrications.

  • Icon of a gear and wrench with fast-moving lines above, and a conveyor belt with three boxes below, representing manufacturing or assembly process.

    Assembly

Scott Aerospace has an assembly & packaging facility which is segregated from the main machine and fabrication shops to maintain a clean and dust free environment for assembly.

  • Laser cutter engraving a design on a wooden surface.

    Laser Etching

We offer laser etching/marking with our new Keyence hybrid laser. The laser can etch/mark most materials that are not translucent and it can also 2D matrix mark and verify.

  • A digital illustration of a thermometer with a long arrow pointing right, indicating temperature measurement or direction.

CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine & Inspection)

At Scott Aerospace we have a comprehensive inspection department which contains 2 - Off CMM's for the accurate measurement of components and assemblies with an accuracy down to 4 microns.

We can also offer UKAS certified inspection through one of our third party inspection houses.

    Vinyl Cutting

We now offer vinyl cutting and stencilling in a variety of colours and materials.

Testing

We provide a full testing facility for proof testing of components/assemblies

Scott Aerospace was initially built on designing, manufacturing and proof-load testing Wessex Water lifting equipment. The latest test equipment means we now proof test in-house and off-site to almost limitless loads.

The majority of our testing is in utilities & aerospace, but our skills also transfer readily to sectors like yours – put us to the test.

Service

The RAF benefits from our reliable support for OEMs’ in-service maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO), including tooling asset management.

We also give Aircraft on Ground support which often requires us to design and manufacture tooling at very short notice. Working closely with Rolls-Royce, we developed the Propeller Gearbox Removal (On Wing) Care Programme for the Airbus A400M’s TP400 engine. The result? A suite of tools for replacing the gearbox with the engine on the wing – and a 66% cut in maintenance time.

We design bespoke lifting solutions for customer requirements, plus service, maintain customer lifting and manipulating equipment.  We install and test davit sockets.

Whatever your industry, our design, manufacture and testing can save you time and money.

Maintenance

Our team provides full end-to-end solutions to global industry, including on site maintenance, proof testing of equipment as well as reverse engineering solutions & asset management.

We carry out maintenance for the aerospace, utilities and construction industries.

Many customers benefit from our full asset-management option, which includes preventative maintenance (PM) analysis. This uses the latest enterprise resource planning systems. With these, we can preserve and restore equipment reliability by replacing worn components before failure. PM also enables us to identify re-design or modification opportunities that improve components’ longevity.

You need tooling and specialist engineering to maintain valuable equipment? We can help.

Disposal

We all have a responsibility to become more conscious of the waste we produce and how this waste is recycled or disposed of.

The Anstee Ware Group takes this responsibility very seriously and when any tooling or apparatus becomes "End Of Life" we strip the apparatus down to it's constituent parts ready for recycling or disposal, whichever is appropriate.

We also carry out extensive 'Reduce To Produce' (RTP) activities.

Design, manufacture, and worldwide in-service support is a key part of what we do.

But at the end of a long, hard service life, when tooling and other equipment must be disposed of in a safe, secure and environmentally friendly way, we use our decades of military and civilian experience.
